Brighton Lodge No. 78 emblemBRIGHTON LODGE Nº 78

To Be One, Ask One

Become a Mason

No man is ever invited or persuaded to become a Freemason. The decision must be his own, made of his free will and accord. If you feel that call, the brethren of Brighton Lodge No. 78 would be glad to meet you.

Who May Petition

  • Be a man of at least eighteen years of age.
  • Believe in a Supreme Being. Masonry is open to men of every faith and does not concern itself with the particulars of religion.
  • Be of good moral character and sound reputation.
  • Come of your own free will and accord, prompted by a favorable opinion of the fraternity.
  • Live or work within the jurisdiction of the Lodge, or seek a recommendation accordingly.

The Path Into the Craft

I

Ask

Masonry does not recruit. A man must ask of his own accord. Reach out to the Lodge, or speak with a Mason you know and trust.

II

Petition & Investigation

You will complete a petition for the degrees. A committee of brethren will then meet with you and your family to answer your questions and become acquainted.

III

The Ballot

The members of the Lodge vote on every petition. Election must be unanimous, a mark of the trust placed in every brother.

IV

The Three Degrees

Once elected, you proceed through the degrees of Entered Apprentice, Fellow Craft, and Master Mason, each a step in the journey of the Craft.

Take the First Step

If you are a good man who seeks the company of good men and a lifelong pursuit of self-improvement, we invite you to reach out. There is no obligation in a conversation.
